Accounting

A study of the most important subject directly related to the successful ministry of church and church related ministries.  This class will give the student the most current instruction for the proper handling of money in the local church and many of its other subordinate ministries. Course Menu

Administrator Practicum

This course is a directed research and personally designed course of study related to an administration ministry within a local church or church school. This will be a course which requires the student to set up interviews with three church or Christian school administrators.  A report will be required from each interview.  Interview questions will be provided as a guide for the interviews. Course Menu

Advanced Administration

This course is a continuation of the Church Administration course of study.  This further develops the doctrine of administration, not only in the local church, but in other ministries. Much practical information will be an excellent resource for all those involved in ministry. Course Menu

Advanced Bible Doctrines III

This course is an introduction to the discipline of theology.  Major themes of the Bible are defined and supported by a systematic study of Bible texts.  The course explores the major divisions of systematic theology.  These are designed to give the student a clear working knowledge of the major Bible doctrines.  It will include additional reading of a systematic theology text for outside reading. Advanced Bible Doctrines IV

This course is a thorough study of the major doctrines of the Christian faith.  The course focuses upon the ten most prominent doctrines of the Old and New Testaments.  It will include additional outside reading of a systematic theology textbook. Course Menu

Apologetics I

This course is a study of arguments the critics have against the Christian faith.  The answers for their arguments are answered by the prominent apologists of our day.  This course will help the student defend the faith against the unbelieving world. Course Menu

Apologetics II

This course is a further study of arguments against the Bible, Creation, Christ, etc.  This study will prepare the student to answer the present day objections and unbelief of those who have accepted a non-Christian world view.   More than adequate arguments are given from former unbelievers.  Course Menu

Art of Pastoring

This is a study and application of the principles and skills of Biblical leadership and management ministry with an emphasis on the abilities needed by today’s church leaders.  The course considers leadership styles, conflict management, goal setting and planning, and working with volunteers. Bible Doctrines I

This course studies the great characters of the Old and New Testaments.  The men and women of the Bible not only reveal their victories, but their failings.  It is a great study with practical spiritual benefits for each student in their present everyday living.  Course Menu

Bible Doctrines II

This course is an in depth, yet simple study of the major doctrines of the Bible with an emphasis on the great words that define all the major concepts of Bible truth.   Accurate definitions and clear applications help the student retain this subject. Course Menu

Biblical Basics for Counseling

This course provides the student with the most up to date methods of counseling from the standard point of the Bible.  It gives resources, concepts and procedures needed to effectively counsel others from the Bible.  This study gives the student a good understanding of the importance of the whole counseling ministry necessary to meet people’s need. Christian Life and Witness

This is a basic course of study that begins with how we got the Bible.  It covers all kinds of helpful historical information about the writing of the Bible, as well as showing the student the process of translations down to the present time.  Much helpful information is learned that deepens the student’s appreciation of God’s gift to us. Church Administration

This is a study of the most current methods of administration.  This will include an integration of Biblical concepts of church leadership and the relevant principles of communication and organizational management.  This class will be a valuable resource for those serving in the ministry of administration. Counseling Certification Preparation

This course will require the student to do research into the various methods of Christian/Biblical counseling that are available today.  The research will include the evaluation of these different methods or approaches, understanding their differing philosophies, and their purposes.  This will be important for those who want to continue towards a Certification in Counseling. Counseling Practicum

This class requires research of those who are involved in the counseling ministry.  It requires the student to interview and gather information for required research papers to be submitted for evaluation and graduation.  The counselors may be from local churches or counseling agencies. Course Menu

Cross-Cultural Communications

This is a course of study that opens the mind of the student to the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit in His work of evangelism all around the world.  The purpose of this class is to help the student grasp the bigger picture of world missions moving across all languages and different ethnic groups. Cross-Cultural Evangelism

This course is an introduction to the theology, principles and practices of evangelism.  A pattern for the life and practice of evangelism is the goal of this class.  The practical preparation and training will be emphasized.  There will be an emphasis of the cross-cultural approach to the evangelism of peoples in other cultures. Discipleship I

The study of the importance and methodology for discipleship development patterned after scriptural accounts of Christ and His disciples.  It will include the review of programs and work books currently used in discipleship training.  Practical experience in a discipling relationship. Course Menu

Discipleship II

The understanding and practice of Christian community within small groups aimed at particular ministries, Bible study, outreach and discipleship.  The course highlights model church programs, administrative requirements, leadership training, potential difficulties, are factors that ensure long-term success. Dispensations and Covenants

This is an essential course that gives the student a comprehensive understanding of the Biblical emphasis, nature, definition, and practical outworking of the dispensations as they interrelate with God’s covenants to the nation of Israel .  The careful understanding of this subject will be the guide for proper understanding and interpretation of the Bible. Divorce and Recovery Counseling

This is a course within the counseling area that deals with the subject of divorce and recovery.  This tragic situation needs a specialized method of counseling.   The many factors that cause divorce and all the interrelated problems that surface are discussed with a compassionate Biblical approach that will give the counselor what is needed to bring about healing. Dynamics of Leadership

A study of the philosophy and methodology of leadership development patterned after scriptural accounts of Christ and His disciples.  Current leadership models will be examined, plus a wealth of information to help the student formulate his own style of leadership.  This solid Biblical teaching is to be a framework for Christian leadership in ministry. English Composition I

This course will cover:  words, spelling rules, parts of speech, subject-verb agreement, punctuation, abbreviations, mechanics, and writing.  This class comes in the form of individual booklets that are very instructive to aid learning.  These booklets are a great resource for future reference. Eschatology

This is a study of the most interesting subject of the Bible.  The class will give the student a solid understanding of the scope of the Bible from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22.   This study comes in the most visual format possible.  It will serve as a resource for continued review and learning.  The events of the “end times” are on the cutting edge when discussing the events of the twenty-first century. Evangelism

This is a challenging concept of reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Many methods of the past no longer seem relevant.  The present approach of this course is firmly based from the method lived out by Jesus Christ.  It is a Biblical approach which allows the student to partner with the Holy Spirit in His work of evangelism. First Aid/Emergency Medical Training

This is a practical course of information and training in first aid.  The study manual will be the newest Red Cross manual with an exhaustive index of information of all the most up to date procedures for most emergencies.  There are many pictures, visuals, and point by point procedures to follow when an emergency happens. General Epistles

This is a study of James, I and II Peter, and Jude.    It includes a synopsis and analysis of each book.  Special attention is given to problem, interpretive, and historical areas.  There is a basic outline given for each book with instructional material as a resource book.  There are also some interpretive discussions that are helpful for understanding.

Grief and Depression Counseling

This course guides the student in understanding the Biblical basis for counseling those who are in spiritual and emotional need.  The study and practice of counseling techniques include determination of the particular problem or problems and effecting a program which will bring about a solution of the problem.  This counseling will include the current methods of dealing with such challenges as grief and depression. Health/Finance

These are practical courses of information and training in the areas of personal health and finances.  Both subjects use the current textbooks available.  These subjects have proven to be two of the most important challenges in the life of people today. Course Menu

Hermeneutics

This course introduces the theoretical and practical aspects of Biblical interpretation.  The course briefly surveys the history of the interpretation of Scripture.  This course explains the various kinds of Bible literature and how to apply the proper principles of Biblical interpretation. History of Civilization I – Ancient History

This is a course that helps the student learn essential characteristics of good historians and compares two major theories of history.  Mesopotamian, Hebrew, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, European, and Eastern events will be studied.  Chronological events from Creation to the Modern era will be covered.  Many charts and time tables with graphs will be beneficial to understand the scope of this subject. History of Civilization II – Creationism

The study material includes video tapes on Creation and evolution.  These tapes along with a workbook give the student materials to strengthen their faith in the Bible as well as provide scientific proof for the truth of the creation story.  This is an exciting study of updated, current teaching on the subtleties of evolution.  The student will be strengthened in their argument for Creation and will be provided great illustrations and examples of the impossibility of evolution ever being the answer to the origin of all things. Homiletics

The student will learn the art and components of preaching.  The course covers basic patterns of sermon preparation, sermon delivery, and sermon evaluation.  There are chapters that help the preacher/speaker perfect his/her preparation and delivery for the maximum reception and retention of their message. How to Counsel from Scripture

This course is a practical study of the methods of counseling individuals with all kinds of needs from the Bible itself.  Many areas of counseling needs are addressed in the Bible.  This class will clarify the types of problems that are covered in the Bible, plus provide spiritual principles and guidance for help and recovery. Introduction to Archeology

This is a study of the methods and procedures of evaluating the contributions of Middle Eastern archaeology,  Biblical literature and history.  The student will be introduced to the most significant discoveries in Bible lands, as well as to the controversies that have emerged.  The emphasis is on a reading and comprehension of the truths of Biblical archaeology as it relates to the times and places of the people of the Bible. Introduction to Biblical Counseling

This course studies personality theories in the light of Scripture and their implications in counseling; the application of Christian faith to personal problems; basic counseling techniques.  The course will include reading current authors on the subject.  Books will be recommended for the student who is serious about the ministry of counseling. Introduction to Missions

This course introduces the student to the imperative of missions.  The responsibility of being obedient to the Great Commission is impressed upon the heart and mind of each student through this study.  This course will explain why so many have been obedient to the call of God to become missionary to the people around the world. Legal Issues in Ministry

This is a practical course of information and training in the legal requirements of church ministry.  It includes practical instruction regarding issues relating to the IRS and non-profit corporations.  The proper collection and recording of church offerings, required accounting practices, etc. are covered.  The attendance of legal seminars by current legal specialists will be required. Life of Christ

This is a comprehensive study of the Gospels with an emphasis on the life of Christ.  The course relates the events of Christ to the historical setting and background which includes identifying the religious sects, governments, philosophies, and geographic issues of the First Century.  The purpose will help the student gain a clearer understanding of who Christ is, His message and His mission, both then and today.  The course includes 12 booklets with reading assignments primarily in the Gospels. Marriage Enrichment

This course includes the following:  the understanding and developing of a Christian family, practicing love languages, understanding the needs of the husband and wife, and the foundations and structures for continuing the activity of love and respect between the husband and wife. Course Menu

Marriage Preparation

This course will focus on developing a marriage preparation and counseling program for the local church. A theology of marriage will be reviewed.  The student will come to understand the Biblical perspective of marriage outlined in the Bible.  Various aspects of this subject will be explored such as communication within marriage, reconstituted marriage, divorce recovery, premarital and marriage enrichment. Ministerial Ethics

This is a study of the believer’s position and practice, including principles for ethical behavior.   This course is designed to encourage proper development of relationships and ethical decision-making.  Each student is given the opportunity to develop a Biblical worldview.  The Spirit-filled life will be emphasized, and the need for healthy interpersonal relationships will become known. Missions I – History of Missions

This course is an introduction to world missions.  It is appropriate for every Christian.  The course explores the Biblical roots and historical development of missions, as well as its unique problems, necessary skills, and strategic planning.  It addresses motives for missions and the opportunities for involvement. Missions II – Biblical Methods

This course is a focused study of the religions, languages, history and culture of the region of the world where current missionary work is being done.  The course also examines a region’s mission history and the strategies that have been developed to do missions in the new millennium. Course Menu

Missions III – Relationships – Local Church

In this course the student will learn about their individual callings, language and cultural challenges, mistakes, hardships, and various types of missions work.  It also covers the importance of establishing the proper relationship with local churches and key individuals who have a heart for missions.  The importance of building the necessary support base is included. Missions IV – Relationships – Field

This course will focus on the mainstream types of missions work such as church planting, educational, medical, agricultural, home, and more.  The course will also cover support positions with fellow missionaries, the national pastors and missionaries, and staff personnel on the field. Course Menu

Missions Practicum

(2 options listed below)

This is a course that will require the student to do field research.  This research will involve interviewing three of the following:   Missionary, Mission ’s Pastor or a Mission Field Director for a Mission Agency.  The people that are interviewed should be currently serving in some capacity in missions.  The missionaries may be on the mission field or on furlough.  The field research will be compiled and written up as a research paper.  Outside reading required.

                                                                        OR

Plan a short term mission’s trip going as a field apprentice.  The student should seek a situation that is similar to the student’s future goals and that will allow the opportunity for work experience and field training from someone willing to be his/her field supervisor.  The student will be responsible for collecting prescribed information for a report while visiting this cross-cultural situation.  The field supervisor’s evaluation combined with the required written report will determine the student’s grade. The student is responsible for choosing, preparing, and financing the trip to this cross-cultural opportunity with a minimum of at least a one month visit. Course Menu

Missions Preparation

A course designed to complete field research in a cross-cultural situation.   First, this course will require the student to study all the areas that are necessary in the preparation for going to the mission field for a short term mission ministry.  A mission field manual will include all the assignments that are required for the course.

The student will take all the steps prescribed by the mission agency.   All information, assignments, and preparations must be completed by the student.  The student will fulfill all the preparation requirements as if they were actually going on a short-term mission’s trip. Course Menu

New Testament Greek I

This is an elementary course in New Testament Greek designed to introduce students to the basics of Greek vocabulary and rules of grammar as prerequisites for translating the New Testament.  The student will be introduced to the basic tools for assisting in accurately exegeting and interpreting the Bible

New Testament Greek II

This is a course study of the Basic Greek tools that are available for use in Biblical studies sermon preparation or classroom teaching.  It includes instruction on how to properly use these tools to take advantage of the historical research done by scholars in the Greek language. Course Menu

New Testament Survey

This course is a book by book study of the content, instruction, and teachings of the New Testament books from Matthew through Revelation with emphasis on historical settings and backgrounds, authors, and key themes.  The student will read and study the entire New Testament while completing 12 booklets. Old Testament Prophets

An in-depth study of the Old Testament prophets and the impact they had on the kings that they served under, as well as, the response of the nation of Israel .  Much of their writing was prophetic, both to their time period and to the future.  This course will build a good foundation for interpreting much of the New Testament in light of the dispensations of the Kingdom of God . Old Testament Survey I

This course is a detailed survey of Israel ’s history, with primary emphasis given to the primary content of each Old Testament book.  Specific information will be highlighted to assist the student in gaining a good understanding of the chief characters of the Old Testament and their importance in the plan of God.  The first of two courses covers the period from Adam through Judges.  The student will complete 5 booklets while reading the corresponding Old Testament books. This course is a detailed survey of Israel ’s history, with primary emphasis given to the primary content of each Old Testament book.  Specific information will be highlighted to assist the student in gaining a good understanding of the chief characters of the Old Testament and their importance in the plan of God.  His second of two courses covers the period of Judges through Malachi.  The student will complete 5 booklets while reading the corresponding Old Testament books. Parenting

This course is an examination of the Christian family.  It includes the Biblical basis, distinctives, and functions of the family.   It also defines Christian marriage, family roles, and relationships.  Parenting and child training are an integral part this study. Course Menu

Pastoral Practicum (or Life Experience)

This is a study in and application of the general skills of the pastoral ministry.  The student will be required to set up interviews with pastors.  There will be survey questions that the student will use to gain practical insights into the life and ministry of the pastoral calling.  A report will be required from each interview.  More particulars are outlined in the class syllabus. Pastoral Epistles

This is a synopsis and analysis of each book.  Attention will be given to authorship, date of writing and historical backgrounds.  There will be references to irregularities of form and style.  Careful reading of any interpretive difficulties will be required.  The information received from this study will be of great benefit in any area of Christian ministry. Pastoral Theology

This is a course enabling a person to understand the call, qualifications, and work of the minister.  The comprehensive nature of the ministry will require the person to evaluate the primary areas of concern for a person in the pastorate.  An overview, as well as constructively putting the facets of the ministry in an organized way from which the pastor may minister efficiently and effectively is given in this study. By learning more about yourself and the characteristics of others in this personal analysis, you can improve interpersonal relationships ad communications, realign your expectations of others, and gain a better self-knowledge that helps you define and achieve goals.  Thirteen projects help the student to define spiritual gifts, temperament and personality strengths, learning style, love languages, and more!  No resource materials are required. Personal Spiritual Formation

This class helps the student understand the personal disciplines that are required to become a spirit led and controlled believer.  Disciplines such as personal Bible study, daily prayer time,  times of reflection or meditation, scripture memorization, witnessing, worship, etc. Course Menu

Preaching and Preachers

This is a study of the theory and components of preaching.  The course covers basic patterns of sermons, sermon preparation, sermon delivery, and sermon evaluation.  A variety of sermon structures, including dialogical and analogical preaching are studied. This course attends to come of the preacher’s special concerns such as scheduling, invitations, series preaching, and experimental preaching. Course Menu

Prison Epistles

This will be an in-depth examination of Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians and Philemon.  The textbook is a recent resource book on this subject.  It includes a lot of current research into the background of the time, as well as enlightening evidence of the customs and cultures of the cities of Paul’s ministry. Psychology in the Church

This course examines the philosophies and viewpoints of psychology in the church today.  A history of both secular and Christian psychology are covered, along with mainstream teachings.  The contrast of Biblical based psychology and the different perspectives are important to know. Course Menu

Religions and Cultures

This is a study of all of the major religions of the world and their kindred offshoots.  There is contained in this study the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of each religion and the reason that their adherents believe what they do.  The textbook is written in such a way to be easily read.  It contains interesting charts for summarized information. Research Tools

This course will cover several tools used for Bible study, teaching, and preaching.  It includes how to use Bible software, dictionaries, lexicons, commentaries, topical studies, illustrations, quotes, and humor.  The use of the internet and word processing are also covered. Course Menu

Spiritual Formation

This course covers the benefits of a variety of foundational tools, devotion and study practices, accountability practices, church opportunities, and other common strengths for believers. The course also covers a self-examination of where the student is on a spiritual level, along with determining goals and steps to grow.  Course Menu

Specialty Counseling and Ministry

This is a course which deals with the approach and method of counseling some of the most difficult situations encountered.  The scope of this type of counseling is very specific and requires special understanding and wisdom.  This course is a very important for the student who is serious about the counseling ministry. Student Teaching (or Life Experience)

A directed research and personally designed course of study related to teaching ministry with a Christian school.  It is to be arranged in consultation with an administrator of a Christian school.  The requirements of this course are outlined in the syllabus which is available when enrolling in the class. Teaching Methods I

This course develops the individual teaching skills of the student in conformity with foundational principles of teaching and learning.  It also provides guidance in preparing and teaching lesson plans, and assists students in evaluating themselves and their fellow students.  The textbook will be a guiding resource for the student throughout the whole duration of the teaching ministry. This course is focused on the training for teaching in the school classroom.  Students are given the information for every aspect of teaching in the classroom environment.   The textbook is a standard for all teachers and an important resource for all aspects of classroom instruction. Course Menu

Team Ministries
