New students should
have completed three tasks during the application process,
but can also complete them here. New students can pay the
registration fee and setup tuition from the Payments
Page. New students can signup for the Registrar
Student Record from below if it has not been setup already.
Payment
Page- Re-subscribe to tuition payments, pay a
transfer credit bill, graduation fee, transcript fee, etc.
Registrar
Student Record Signup- Use this to signup for
college communications and to enter preliminary credit
evaluation from other schools and training in your Registrar
Student Record File. Do not use this if you have
already signed up! You can access and update your
information from the Preferences
link at the bottom of many of Windsor College's emails to
you, especially ones with +++ symbols in the subject.
Graduation
Requirement Checklist- This is listed in your
Registrar Student Record File, and should be checked off
there, but here is an overview when you are getting close to
graduating.
and Student Number Request- Use to send retrieve
login or student number that will be sent to your email
address on file.
Student
Formula For Progress- Choose a number of hours
per week you might work on college. Multiply that
times the number of weeks in a year that you might plan on
working. Divide that number by eighteen to see how
many credits per year you might earn. Allow a little
cushion! Determine how many credits you need.
Keep in mind that new students may have six credits for
courses during enrollment, and might have previous Bible
college credit or life experience credit.

Windsor College Tips and Links for Grammar and Writing
(great resource for reviewing grammar in general)
Writing styles vary from college to college, but mainly from
field to field. MLA style is widely used in the humanities, especially in writing on language and literature.
Here is a summary of writing styles:
APA: psychology, education, and other social sciences.
MLA: literature, arts, and humanities.
AMA: medicine, health, and biological sciences.
Turabian: designed for college students to use with all subjects.
Chicago: used with all subjects in the "real world" by books, magazines, newspapers, and other non-scholarly publications.
Windsor College's Main Usage
of the MLA Style:
- The entire page should be
double-spaced.
- Indent paragraphs and
citations five spaces.
- Numbers ten or less should be written
out rather than using numerals, except
for Bible chapter and verse, decimal numbers, and page
numbers in citations. When using percentage numbers
written out, do not use the "%" symbol, but
use "percent".
- Contractions such as
"don't" should not be used, but rather
"do not".
- The first time the author
is mentioned by name in the paper the first and last
name should be used. Any other mentions of the
author after that should just have the last name.
- Whenever a book is
mentioned, even in the title of the paper, it should be
underlined. All other books should also be
underlined, except Bible books. Articles
should use parentheses around the article name.
- A quote from the book the
student is reviewing should should be entered this
way: You have your paragraph as normal.
"The quote should have quotation marks and have the
author's last name and page number in parenthesis at the
end of the quote. You can have more than one quoted
sentence, but the last punctuation of the last quoted
sentence is after the parenthesis" (Author
24). "If the author’s last name appears in the citation, then only a page number is
required at the end (24).
- Quotes from other
resources that are not the book being reviewed should
use the same format, but an alphabetized "Works
Cited" list must be displayed after the
student's writing. The MLA style "Cited"
list has specific formats depending on whether it is a
book, web page, reference book, etc.
- Scripture quotes do not
require the Bible to be listed in the "Cited"
list at the end of the paper as long as the scripture is
cited in the text. You can use the
Bible book, chapter, and verse at the beginning. John 11:35
states, " Jesus wept." You can also use the Bible
book, chapter, and verse at the end with the last
punctuation after the parenthesis as in these next two
examples. "Jesus
wept" (John 11:35). "Jesus wept"
(John 11:35 NKJV).
- Web Page in Works Cited:
Include the author if given, the title of the web
page or page name, the name of the entire web
site,
the organization that posted it (this may be the same as the name of the
website), the full date the page was created or last updated (day, month, year if available), and the date you looked at it. If
the web address is very long, shorten it to the
address and subdirectory.
- Dates in Heading and Works
Cited: The day of the month should come before the
month (e.g. 10 November 2010). Abbreviate the names of all months except May, June, and July.
